![]() Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday ... the annual one-day holiday every fourth Thursday of November to give thanks to God for the things we have and the blessings in our life. It's a long tradition with early roots in our nation's history. After the harvest crops were gathered in November 1623, Governor William Bradford of the 1620 Pilgrim Colony, "Plymouth Plantation" in Plymouth, Massachusetts proclaimed: "All ye Pilgrims with your wives and little ones, do gather at the Meeting House, on the hill there to listen to the pastor, and render Thanksgiving to the Almighty God for all His blessings."Today, it's also a day of family, friends, football and the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade! And the most wonderful food that we have all year ... turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and all the Fall vegetables. Each year, I will put a new Thanksgiving page on Cheddar Bay, up-dated with new recipes that maybe will become a part of your Holiday tradition, too. I hope you'll enjoy them all. And I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
